Travel Checklist

Use this handy list to help you think of things to pack in your travel health kit. Be sure to think about where you are going and whether you will have access to health supplies.

  • Anti-diarrheal drugs – relief from diarrhea (eg. Imodium)

  • Oral Rehydration salts - to treat and prevent dehydration (eg. Enerlyte)

  • Antacids - for relief of queasy or upset stomachs (eg. Mylanta)

  • Antihistamine tablets – relief from allergy, rash and bites (eg. Zyrtec)

  • Anti-itch cream – for bites and rashes (eg. Derm-Aid)

  • Wound Closure Strips – to pull sides of small wounds together instead or before stitches (eg. Leukostrip)

  • Tweezers and Scissors

  • Plasters – for minor cuts (eg. Nexcare Fabric Dressing)

  • Non-adherent pads and paper tape – for large wounds (eg. Melolite)

  • Antiseptic Cream to prevent and treat minor skin infections (eg. Crystaderm)

  • Pain Killers – for relief of different types of pain including headache, toothache, back ache, etc. (eg. Panadol, Nurofen, Nurofen chewables for kids)

  • Seal Sickness Pills– to prevent travel/sea sickness (eg. Sealegs)

  • Insect Repellent – for protection from mosquitoes, sand flies and other insect bites (eg. Repel)

  • Sunscreen – to protect from sunscreen. Don’t forget a lip screen and aftersun care (eg. Sunsense)

  • Nasal Spray – for relief if congested esp. while flying (eg. Otrivin)

  • Sore throat – soothe sore throat (eg. Difflam Throat lozenges)

  • Cough - lozenges to stop a cough (eg. Kurols)

  • Hand Sanitizer – for quickly cleaning hands on the go (alcohol base)

  • Immunity Booster – natural health remedy to boost your immunity at the first sign of a sore throat, colds or aches (eg. Bioceuticals Armaforce)

  • Walking? Remember blister pads - for relief from blisters (eg. Compeed)

  • Flying? Remember flight socks – help to prevent swollen ankles and tired aching legs

​Special note about prescription medicines

​

Remember to pack sufficient quantities of your prescription medicines plus three extra days in case of delays. Ask us for a list of your current medications and take this with you in a separate piece of luggage.
